Earth

The Earth is the third planet from the Sun, it comes between the planet Venus and Mars. It is the densest planet in our Solar System, the second densest planet in Solar System is Mercury. The diameter of Earth is 12756 km, it is the fifth largest planet in our Solar System and the largest of the terrestrial planets among Mercury, Venus and Mars.
Earth is the only planet in our Solar System where all things and atmosphere are found for life survival. There are 7 Continents (Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, South America, Australia, and Antarctica) and 5 Oceans (Pacific, Indian, Atlantic, Arctic and Southern) on Earth, oceans water on Earth covers about 70% surface. Mount Everest is the highest point on Earth, its height is approximately 8.8 Km above sea level, and the Challenger Deep in Mariana Trench is the deepest point on Earth its depth is about 11 km below the ocean's surface.
The gravitational forces between Earth and the Moon causes periodic rise and falls in oceans water and known as the tides.
The name Earth is an English/German word, which simply means the ground, it is the only planet in our solar system which was not named after a Greek or Roman deity. The Earth is only the planet in our Solar System where water is formed in its three states Ice, Water and Gas state. The Rotation Period of earth is 23h 56m, its Solar Orbit Period is 1 year, and Mean Distance of Earth from the Sun is 150 M Km, it takes 8 minute and 20 seconds to travel light from the Sun to Earth.
Earth has one natural satellite, the Moon which is the fifth largest satellite in our Solar System, the largest satellite is Ganymede which orbits the giant Jupiter.
