Neptune


Neptune is eighth planet and the farthest planet from the Sun, it is the third largest planet in our Solar System, smaller than the real giants, Jupiter and Saturn, and only a little bigger than Uranus.
Neptune can not be seen without a large telescope, it was the first planet which was located through mathematical predictions. It's blue color is due to the presence of methane in the atmosphere. Neptune is known as the ice giant of the outer solar system, the other ice giant is Uranus. Neptune is named for the Roman god of the sea. Its diameter is 49500 km which makes it the third largest planet, Its Rotation Period is 16h 06m, its Solar Orbit Period is 165 years, and Mean Distance from the Sun is 4500 M Km. Neptune has 14 known satellites, the largest satellite of Neptune is Triton.
