Sun

The Sun is the closest star to  Earth and is the center of our Solar System. It is a giant, spinning ball of very hot gas.
Sun is the most massive component in our Solar System.

The Sun holds 99.8 percent mass of our Solar System, it is made up mostly of hydrogen, followed by helium, its diameter is about 1.392 million km (864,938 miles). The light from the Sun heats our planet and makes life possible, energy in the Sun is due to the nuclear fusion. There are 8 planets which orbits the Sun (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune). The closest planet to the Sun is Mercury, and the farthest planet from the Sun is Neptune.
Earth is third planet from the Sun, it takes 8 minute and 20 seconds to travel light from the Sun to Earth. Solar Eclipse occurs when the moon comes between Earth and the Sun. The closest Star to the Sun is Proxima Centauri, which is a pair of Alpha Centauri star system.
